Dear Students and Families,

Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year! Whether you are returning from summer vacation, new to the area, or beginning your middle school journey as a 6th grader, I hope you are as proud as I am to be a Panther. We have a very hard working and caring staff, and we have much to be proud of. PVMS is recognized by the State of California as a Gold Ribbon School and a Title One Academic Achievement School.

Prairie Vista Middle School, represented by its entire staff, parents, community members, and students believe its purpose is to develop students who are prepared to succeed in high school and beyond. We believe that student success is based on the ability to think critically, write clearly, and apply learning to real world situations. We believe that student success requires good teaching. Teachers establish high expectations for students with a belief that students can achieve their goals.

The system of formal academic instruction at PVMS is supported and strengthened by an intense arts curriculum. At PVMS, we believe that the arts have the power to engage, transform and contribute to the development of intellectual and creative students. The Fine Arts Academy not only enhances the programs at PVMS, but also motivates students to achieve their personal best in order to participate in the exploratory classes.

I am honored to be your principal, and I am looking forward to a productive and fun year. I hope we can all work together in order to provide a safe learning environment that supports academic and social excellence.

Proud to be a Panther,

Patricia Ray, Ed.D.
